Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window

An aircraft carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.

"The jet touched down following standard protocol and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative commented in a online announcement.

Hegseth was returning from a short visit to Brussels during the flight.

This occurrence isn't the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical fault.
